What We Do

 
All activities will be conducted on an ongoing basis depending on the needs of each audience/group. These activities will be at various schools, churches etc. Conducted by volunteers.

Physical Fitness:  Basketball, a fitness program that develops the mind, body and spirit, will help the youth fit as well as help them develop sportsmanship and teamwork. The program will also help develop leadership, self-confidence and self-esteem.   

liDance:  Will teach them self-expression while having fun.  They will have a chance to get to know themselves through the art of dance.  It will also encourage them to be creative in everything they do.

liNutrition:  Will teach the importance of eating healthy so children will develop good eating habits and live a healthier life.  One of the many workshops will include teaching the Food Guide Pyramid.

liCooking:  Will teach children the importance of preparing healthy meals.  This program will introduce them to many kid-friendly recipes that are healthy and tasty.

liPersonal Hygiene:  Will teach children how important cleanliness is in maintaining their health as well as helping them feel better about themselves.

liArts & Crafts:  Will teach children self-expression while having fun.  They will have a chance to get to know themselves by expressing their emotions and feelings through arts & crafts.

liParenting Classes:  Will teach children and parents how to become loving partners within the family.  Helping them to communicate and develop better relationships.

liField Trips:  Field trips to various destinations will enable children to learn about different cultures and environments.


Examples #1:  Shriner Hospital - to allow children to learn how children with various disabilities live and learn the importance of having support from family and friends.
Example #2:  Shopping trips – will teach them how to shop at the grocery stores to select healthier foods and to read nutritional facts on food labels.

liEducation on Drugs: This program will teach them the importance of saying “No” to the recreational use of drugs, but how certain medication prescribed by a doctor may be necessary to treat medical conditions to save lives.  We will feature guest speakers and use pamphlets to teach children this important subject.
