  Cholera Update

   October 26, 2011
Cholera has now reached Bombardopolis where the OIH center is located.  The main water source in the
area, ~3 miles from the OIH center, where we used to get water for the children has been confirmed to be
contaminated.  The new well at the center is now the main source of clean water for the community.

God has worked His miracle once again and orchestrated the timely purchse of the well rig, Theo's time
to travel to Haiti to dig the well, and many other things that we are not aware of just in time when
Bombardopolis needs a clean source of water.

There are no reports of Cholera in any of the OIH children.  Praise the Lord!

We ask that you keep the people in Haiti in your prayers as they face another national tragedy.

   DLO LAVI-A (water for life)
   October 16, 2011

Since March 2011, when OIH completed digging its first well, the people of Bombardopolis, Haiti have
been enjoying the healthy water that is provided by our facility.  OIH opens its facility to the public several
hours a day so folks from the community can bring their water containers to the well to fill to take back to
         their family.

The natives refer to the well as dlo lavi-a, which in English means "water for life."  What a blessing it is to
be able to provide them a healthier life!

  Will You Help?

   October 16, 2011

If the Lord has impressed you to help with raising money for the church building or donating money to
help ship the bus and 4-wheeler to Haiti so that we may better transport the children when needed or help
reduce the cost of missionary expenses when we take trips, please make your check payable to OIH and
remember to write "bus" or "church" on the memo line of your check.  You may also donate with your
credit card through our website DONATE.

   SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST
   August 16, 2011

OIH is prayiing for an individual(s) familiar with an old cable tool well drilling rig who would be willing to
travel to Haiti to dig a second well for the OIH facility.

Additionally, OIH has been contacted by several mission organizations in northern Haiti interested in hiring
OIH to drill wells for their mission facility.  This would be a great opportunity for OIH to earn a little revenue
to help sustain our mission in Bombardopolis.

If interested, please call Jean at 800.704.7611.

   School Bus
   August 15, 2011

To eliminate the cost of renting transportation each time missionaries go to the OIH facility in Haiti, or
when we need to transport the children anywhere, the board approved the purchase of a mini school bus.
Once again, an offer was made below the asking price.  Initially OIH was told their offer would not be
accepted because other offers had already been received that exceeded ours, and they had been
rejected.  The OIH board once again prayed for God's will to be done.

Several days later the school selling the bus called, indicating their board had discussed OIH and would
like to sell the bus to us at our offered price.

   4-Wheeler "For Sale"
   August 15, 2011

Sitting on the side of the road, it had a "For Sale" sign indicating the seller wanted $800.  He stopped and
offered $200.  That offer was met with an incredulous, "Are you kidding? Do you think I'll just give it to
you?!!!"  After explaining the equipment would be used at a mission facility in Haiti to help transport
supplies around the mission compound, the seller said, "I'll tell you what.  I'm moving tomorrow.  Give me
your phone number.  OIH is doing a good thing in Haiti.  If it does not sell by the end of today, I will call
you and you can have it for $200."

At 7 p.m. the telephone rang.  It was the gentleman who had the 4-wheeler for sale.  He said, "The 4-
wheeler did not sell.  It is yours for $200.  Where would you like it delivered?"

Because of the size of the size of the property and the rough terrain, OIH needed a rugged "vehicle" to
transport supplies from the warehouse throughout the center.  Now all we need is a small trailer!

Do not think for one second that God does not hear and answer prayers!

   Another Answered Prayer
   April 10, 2011

There is now a working well at the OIH center!  We give praises to God for another answered prayer.  This
will change the lives of many people in Bombardopolis.

Theo Dewind spent hours drilling for days starting from early mornings until dusks, taking small breaks
in between.  His dedication and hard work made this project such a success.  OIH has been blessed to
have Theo be part of OIH's mission in spreading the encouraging news of Jesus Christ's love by providing
the daily essentials to those who are less fortunate.

   Manna
   April 10, 2011

Walking inside the OIH's Warehouse  last month appeared similar to Costco.  Boxes of packaged food,
rice and soy protein, filled up half of OIH's warehouse.  They were generously donated by Feed My
         Starving Children.
We can't thank Feed My Starving Children enough for their life-saving donations.
The donations will ensure food for the children for many months.  In addition, OIH shared these to the
community during Food Distribution last month.  See pictures from the Food Distribution

Love Parcels - New Deadline April 30, 2011
   April 7, 2011

Love Parcels must be received by April 30 at our Florida facility to be shipped for distribution this year.

   The Well Project has Begun
   March 11, 2011

The Well Rig arrived in Bombardopolis safely.  There were many onlookers and volunteers from the
neighborhood during the drilling.  After reaching approximately 100 feet down, part of the machine broke
and fell in the hole that they were working on.  This caused a 3-day delay until part of the machine that
fell was retrieved and fixed.  Theo and his team managed to drill down to approximately 220 feet but
water was still not in sight.

Theo and Jean returned to the U.S. a week after, putting the project on hold to prepare for the Missionary
team that will be arriving in Bombardopolis at the end of March.  Upon arrival at the OIH Center this
month, Theo and his team will resume with the Well Project.  It is estimated that the water will be located
         at around 300 feet.

   Solar Panels
   February 23, 2011

The donated solar panels that were shipped with the well rig have been installed.  There is power in
the mission house and the newly purchased refrigerator is running.

   Well Rig
   February 6, 2011
Praise God!  Our drilling equipment cleared customs in Gonaive, Haiti on February 4, 2011.  Thank you
         for the countless prayers.

OIH President Jean Florvilus will be traveling to Haiti in the next few days to assist in bringing the
equipment to the OIH center in Bombardopolis.  We will post pictures ones they are available.

  Little Parcels of Love
   February 6, 2011

It is hard to believe that is already time to begin thinking about packing a Love Parcel for your sponsored
child(ren).  See list of suggestions to help you get started.  It does not matter what is sent as much as
the fact that something IS sent.

This simple act of remembering these kids is not lost on them.  Please help us ensure that each child
receives a Love Parcel this year.  Any thoughtful item is appreciated.  If you do not have time to make up
a Love Parcel, please let us know.  For $25, we would be happy to purchase the items for you to put
         together a Love Parcel.

Mission Trip Opportunity in March/April 2011
    February 6, 2011

OIH is planning a mission trip for the last week of March/first week of April.  We are ironing out the details
and should know the specific travel dates by the first week of February.  If you are interested in traveling to
Haiti to meet your sponsored child(ren), or if you do not sponsor a child but have made a donation for a
special project and would like to see how your money was put to use, please join us!

From our personal experience and in talking with others who have joined one of the Mission Trips
(pictures), there is nothing like meeting the children for the first time.

We will have groups busily painting the missionary home inside and out, cleaning land to build roads,
working on building projects and providing the medical needs of the children.

There is always room for people who want to help spread the gospel to hasten the Lord's return.  Please
call us if you are interested in going.

Please contact OIH at 1-800-704-7611 (Toll Free), 1-269-471-2629 (Office) or 1-269-815-5064 (Fax) if you
         have any questions.

The Well Rig is on its Way
    December 6, 2010
The OIH's Well Rig has been carefully disassembled and completely packed in the shipping
container today.  It departed Holland, Michigan this afternoon en route to Miami, Florida where it
is scheduled to leave the port this Friday, December 10, for Gonaive, Haiti.

Jean and Theo will accompany the transportation of the Well Rig from Gonaive to Bombardopolis,
where the OIH property is located.  OIH will soon have a well on its property to provide accessible,
potable water to so many people in the community.  Eventually, the Well Rig will provide many
other wells in the different areas of Bombardopolis to share to the community of how much God has
blessed OIH.  This was only a dream 2 - 3 years ago.  Nothing is truly impossible with God!

OIH Partners with Feed My Starving Children
   November 16, 2010
Thank you for all the generous donations and prayers in making it possible to reach OIH's goal of raising
$10,000.  This is the cost for shipping and customs for a 40' container of food that Feed My Starving
Children has graciously donated to OIH.  The container will be shipped to Haiti on Friday, November 19.

Partnering with Feed My Starving Children was an answer to our prayers, as providing nutritional meals
has always been a struggle and it has become even more of one since January 2010, after the
         devastating earthquake.

3ABN Televised Interview with Shelley Quinn - November
    November 14, 2010
The interview with Shelly Quinn was aired again on November 9, 2010 at 1:00 am, 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm
         (Central Standard Tiime).
   Cholera Update
    November 12, 2010
Information regarding the cholera outbreak changes daily.  As of November 10, 2010, cholera is now
documented as being in 6 of the 10 geographical departments of Haiti.  The Artibonite Region (north
of Port-au-Prince but south of Bombardopolis) continues to be the hardest hit, reporting the most
deaths at this point.  Cholera has spread to the capital and the effect of this outbreak there could be
inevitably wipe out close to 1 million people.  Reports estimate 32 deaths are occurring daily.  The
evening of November 9, 2010 it was reported there were 81 additional deaths.  This brings the total
casualties to over 700 and an estimated 11,000+ people are infected.  Panic is widespread in the
capital as the number of patients are overwhelming the medical teams.  Hospitals are overflowing
with sick.  Medical workers are putting in 24-hour shifts and are exhausted.  Port de Paix and Cap
Haitien, which are near Bombardopolis, have been sent supplies to treat anyone who complains of
cholera symptoms.  To date, Bombardopolis has not reported any cases of cholera.

   Hurricane Tomas Update
   November 12, 2010
Bombardopolis was hit hard with sustained heavy winds and torrential rainfall.  One hundred niney-two
         (192) homes were destroyed (2 children that OIH sponsors lost their homes), 80% of crops were lost and
373 animals disappeared (source of food and income).  We praise the Lord that there were no human
casualties and all of the OIH children are safe.

We are relieved to be able to report that the warehouse and the missionary home withstood the storm.
Our cistern is full of water.  Since we are on the side of a mountain, we have excellent drainage on our
property that allows the excess water to run off and not stand stagnant in pools, creating a breeding
         ground for waterborne illness.

Sadly, however, we lost our avocado tree.  Each one of our fruit-producing trees on the property takes 5-
         13 years to produce fruit.
