State Conference Volunteer
To serve on committee that plans the annual state conference each Fall. Duties include: Obtaining sponsors for the event; Designing, printing & mailing brochures & registration forms; Soliciting donated items for snacks & registration bags . Volunteer must be willing to attend the conference & help with tasks including registration, lunch & others. Time commitment: Prior to event, the committee will meet 1 or 2 times in the Indianapolis metro area. Majority of communication within the committee will be through telephone & e-mail. Volunteer must be available the evening before the conference for set-up & the day of the conference.

Gala Planning Volunteer
Serves on committee that plans the annual gala each May. Prefer wedding/ event planning experience. Duties include: Assist with creation of invitations & programs; assist with securing event location, entertainment, catering & equipment within set budget; Mailing sponsorship solicitation letters to sponsor list; outreach to potential new sponsors; follow-up with sponsors for donation response; tracking sponsor response. Committee will consist of 2-3 volunteers, overseen by the gala coordinator. Time commitment: Gala coordinator will hold 4 committee meetings between December & June in the Indianapolis Metro area. Ability to respond promptly to email communication is a must. Volunteer must be available for event set-up & willing to attend gala to assist with day of event tasks including registration, auction monitoring & tear-down.

The Chapter has several other fundraising events that need volunteers to serve in many different areas. Duties & Time commitment: Each event is unique & would involve different duties & time commitments. The location of each event is also different. Events include:

Event Photographer
Volunteer willing to attend various Chapter events & shoot pictorial. Must be willing to allow release of photographs to Chapter for posting online & for use in advertising/education materials including brochures, flyers & PowerPoint presentations. Time commitment: Minimum attendance at 3 major events in 2009: Gala (May–Indianapolis); Walk (October–Indianapolis); Conference (Nov–Indianapolis). Will be provided with 2009 calendar of events. Availability for other events will be dependent upon availability & location of volunteer.

Bulk Mailing Volunteer
To serve on committee that assists with bulk mailings for Chapter. Duties include: Labeling & stuffing envelopes; Applying postage for 3-4 large bulk mailings coordinated by the Indiana Chapter per year. Committee will consist of 3-4 volunteers, overseen by the Chapter Secretary. Time commitment: Committee will meet 3-4 times per year, 60-90 minutes per meeting. Volunteer must be willing to meet in/travel to Indianapolis for committee meetings.

Duties include: Creation of 20-25 centerpieces & various other floral arrangements using new & existing materials. Able to maintain expenses within set budget. Prefer floral arranging/design experience. Time commitment: Available for 2 meetings in the Indianapolis Metro area with gala coordinator to discuss theme, view & pick-up existing materials & shop for new materials. Volunteer will be responsible for the creation & storage of decorations until the day of the event. All materials can be made at home at the convenience of the volunteer. Serves on committee that is responsible for silent auction item collection for annual gala each May. Duties include: Mailing item solicitation letters to vendor list; outreach to new vendors; follow-up with vendors for donation response; coordinating pick up/delivery of donated items; tracking donor response; assist with creation of silent auction program; assist with auction marketing, both print & online. Committee will consist of 2-3 volunteers, overseen by the gala coordinator. Time commitment: Gala coordinator will hold 4-6 auction committee teleconferences between December & June, 60-90 minutes per teleconference. Ability to respond promptly to email communication is a must. All duties can be carried out from home. No location restrictions.

To serve on committee that assists with public relations & marketing of Chapter events. Duties include: Work with fundraising committee & newsletter coordinator to post chapter events & support group information to local online community calendars & other free media (newsletters, advertising, websites, public service radio announcements); Regular correspondence with media relations volunteer regarding contacts that resulted in successful posting to websites & other media. Time commitment: Volunteer may work at his/her convenience from home. Calendar of Chapter events & newsletters will be provided for help with media posting. No location restrictions. Ability to respond to email communication is a must. Will be corre sponding with fundraising committee & event coordinators on a regular basis. Will provide quarterly email progress report to Chapter President. |
