Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County Receives State Farm Grants Winston-Salem, NC -- Habitat for Humanity for Forsyth County has received two matching grants totaling $20,000 from State Farm.® The Habitat Young Professionals, a group of young adults who come together to build a Habitat house every two years, received a $10,000 matching grant for a house that is currently under construction. The Young Professionals raised the matching funds from other efforts, including a formal gala held in October. Habitat’s Youth United group, made up of students ages 5 to 25 who build a house each year, also received a $10,000 matching grant for a house that will be built in 2012. Youth United is raising its matching funds from activities such as dances for high school-age students and a pie festival that was held in November. Since 2007, State Farm has served as the national corporate sponsor of Habitat for Humanity’s youth programs, with a sponsorship commitment of more than $1.1 million in grants each year. Additionally, State Farm offices contribute more than $500,000 annually to Habitat affiliates across the United States.
