What is this?

This Tree Map showcases the hard work and dedication of Goleta Valley Beautiful's members and volunteers. The map is both an informational resource, providing a comprehensive record of the trees planted by Goleta Valley Beautiful, as well as a management tool, allowing for the tracking of each tree's health and growth.

Instructions

To navigate the tree map, you will need the Google Earth plug-in. Click here to install the plug-in.

Click and drag to move across the map and use your mouse's scroll wheel to zoom in and out. You can also use the controls on the right side of the map. These controls will appear when you move your mouse to the right side of the map.

Each tree has been assigned a unique identification number and a marker has been placed in the exact location where the tree is actually planted. Click each tree to view the the the type of tree as well as the current health of the tree.

Each major tree planting location has been marked with an upside-down tear drop. Click these markers to view the name of each location. Blue markers refer to areas where the trees in the area have not been fully cataloged in the Tree Map, green markers designate areas where trees have been fully documented. Yellow pushpins indicate proposed tree planting sites.

If you notice any errors, including trees marked in the wrong locations, trees with mislabeled types, or trees that are no longer alive, please contact us.
