Message from the Most Rev. Michael J. Sheehan, Archbishop of Santa Fe
Dear Friends in Christ,
As Archbishop of Santa Fe, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. It is the mother church of the dioceses of the southwest of our country and it is rightly called the heart of Santa Fe. This beautiful Cathedral Basilica is holy ground made holy not only by the building materials and the images of the Saints, but by the deep Catholic faith of those who built it and who have worshipped here for many years. I hope that you deepen your love for Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist, the preaching and the Sacraments, and sacramentally present in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. May God touch your heart profoundly with an ever deepening faith as you pray in this historic church and take part in the activities available to you. Share your faith with others in your family and circle of friends and let them all know of the heartfelt welcome we extend to them.
God’s rich blessing and graces upon you!
Sincerely yours in the Risen Lord,
Most Rev. Michael J. Sheehan
Archbishop of Santa Fe
Welcome from Monsignor Jerome Martinez y Alire, Rector
Welcome!
Our parish is almost 400 years old, making it one of the longest established Christian congregations in the country! But our glory lies not so much in our illustrious past, but in the present where we continue the work of the Saviour. And so we open our hearts and arms to you who wish to become part of our spiritual family. We offer you our personal prayerful support and the services of our many ministries, programs and outreach. We also count on your presence, and the support of your time, treasure and talent. Let us together write the latest chapter of the Cathedral Basilica’s rich and faith filled history. Once more, ¡Bienvenidos!
Yours in Christ,
The Rev. Msgr. Jerome J. Martinez y Alire
