Bread of Life has worked alongside Dr. Alexander Shaia, author of The Hidden Power of the Gospels: Four Questions, Four Paths, One Journey, for many years.  Since 2004 we have partnered to offer retreats, public presentations, and to develop an immersion experience for those in spiritual leadership. We find the four-fold path powerfully descriptive of how Grace works in creative process, in the development of community, and in the natural developmental processes of spiritual maturation. It’s about participating in the transforming work of Spirit within and among us, becoming a fully alive human being in the world as it is.

Describing the Four-fold Journey

uadratos is a new name for the ancient four-fold journey of spirit and transformation recognized by every major religious faith tradition and found at the heart of Christianity.

The four progressive paths of Quadratos correspond to the four gospels and the four great questions of the spiritual life described below. Each gospel's question and practice is revealed within a particular landscape and its human experience.
The journey is universal, sequential, and cyclical. At its most universal, the pattern of Quadratos is found in our experience of the four seasons and their cycle.
